History
Canyon
Woods was the first to introduce the “residential resort” concept in the Metro Tagaytay-Taal area. It was successful
such that it was able to take the concept of multi-product residential subdivision a step further by incorporating resort
elements and activities to complement the residential development. This concept, strengthened by a theme and character, unified
the residential and resort elements into a unique, signature development. The resulting market was, to say the least, very
successful.
The project started with the development of a 35-hectare property along Diokno
Highway in Laurel, Batangas. As early as August 1995, small-lot sizes
were offered initially and had been depleted with an average of 18 units per month. Price performance indicators have been
very encouraging. Opening prices for open lots in 1994 ranged from P2,800-3,500 per square meter. With over 2,400 saleable
lots in its 220-hectare property, and 200 hectares more for future expansion, the current market price is now at P8,500 per
sq.m. to P12,000 per sq.m.
The original plan for the development of a “community club” was revised to include a master planned country
club at par with the resort’s program. Realizing the opportunity that the “Canyon Woods Experience” can
also be retailed to non-residents in the form of proprietary membership, TGCI decided to incorporate CANYON WOODS RESORT CLUB,
INC. in 1997 and thereafter, paved the way to the offering of such.
The Club’s place in this integrated development is well embedded. The life of the entire resort depends mostly
on the activities
provided by the resort club. It is a master planned development in itself that offers five major activity
centers.
The showcase feature of the resort is the Clubhouse, a 9,800-square meter Maņosa-rendered super structure that features
first class dining facilities, convention/function rooms, business center, 49-seating capacity mini-theatre, luxurious health
and wellness spa, salon, gym with Cybex machines & free weights, indoor heated swimming pool, gift shop, fun center and
children’s play land.
To satisfy even the most discriminating requirements for lodging, our members can enjoy the Casitas and the Villas.
The Casitas, designed by Arch. Francisco Maņosa, provides a wonderful view of the mini golf or the man-made lake and the pavilion.
Each room of the 20-unit Casita is equipped with the finest amenities to make our members and guests’ stay a most comfortable
one. On the other hand, the Villas, inspired by the North American Woodland architecture, have two to four rooms each. These
villas cater to the families who prefer to stay under one roof.
The Lodge, the newest addition to the Lodging facilities was inaugurated in July 2006. consists of 20 deluxe rooms
and 5 suites, the bedrooms of The Lodge would still conform to the Club’s authentic “Canyon Woods” style-
parquet flooring, exquisite upholstery and rustic ambiance.
The fully landscaped nature trail lies one of the most distinguishable landmarks in the area, the Pavilion Campsite.
The biggest of its kind, the Pavilion Campsite showcases 25,000-square meter recreation and sports center. It houses various
recreation and sports facilities such as badminton, basketball, tennis, volleyball and squash courts, a man-made lake, 18-hole
crazy mini golf, outdoor swimming pool and Bowling and Billiards at the Bowling
Center.

Nestled on one of the resorts prime location is the Chapel of the Most Holy Name of the Child Jesus. This auspicious
center of worship may very well accommodate 200 people. Anticipated mass is celebrated at 5:30pm on Saturdays.
The Resort also boasts of a challenging 9-hole par 34 mountain golf course. The golf pavilion, riving range, proshop
and separate locker rooms for men and women complete every golfer’s stay at the resort.
